I'm incredibly grateful to have you appear as a guest on [Show Name]! This document will answer any questions you have as you prepare for our conversation.

Pre-Interview

Prepare your environment

If possible, find a quiet place that minimizes noise. Ideally that would be a room without high ceilings or a lot of glass.

You may want to have a glass of water handy so you stay hydrated during the call and to help with any dry mouth during the interview.

Optimize your recording setup

Prioritize your connection to SquadCast by closing other tabs, apps, & devices running on your computer.

If for any reason your network disconnects during the call, don't worry, you can simply log back in using the same link.

Optional software improvements

If you have a concern about the strength of your WiFi signal, you may want to look into installing TripMode. This simple app allows you to toggle off any local applications that are using the internet signal. That way, during the call, you can simply have the browser active and all other apps temporarily suspended from pinging the internet during the call.

Check your equipment

Internal microphones will work, but external microphones are recommended to record quality audio. Headphones are highly recommended to eliminate echo. At the very least, a good set of earbuds will work well.

We will be connecting via video, which helps with non-verbal communication.

SquadCast Platform Overview

We'll be using SquadCast.fm for the recording of the interview. The actual URL will be provided in the calendar invite prior to the call. SquadCast is a browser-based service and as such, there is no software to install. To see the most recent list of browsers supported, click here.

Below is a video created by Arielle, the Community Manager over at SquadCast, where she'll guide you on how to join the call:
